Proficiency and experience in international negotiation is an essential skillset for a global business professional. We treat negotiation as a crucial set of professional skills centering on communication and leadership.
Strategy Track Course 3
Your success in business relies on your skills in leading and influencing others. Even the most technically skilled managers must be able to persuade, motivate, and engage others including direct reports, peers, customers, and executive teams. The sciences of cognitive and social psychology have produced many reliable findings about the factors that influence attitudes, beliefs, behavior, and motivation. Today's changing nature of work is in need of new ways to attract, engage, and retain customers and employees. On this course, students will gain an understanding of these findings, and develop their ability to apply them to advance one's career success, champion change, and manage others effectively.
Strategy Track Course 4
In an interconnected world, businesses are faced with more complex and complicated challenges. Third-party advisors and consultants are often leveraged to assist business executives with navigating these difficulties and identifying potential solutions. The "art of consulting" is the philosophy of how these individuals and teams help organizational leaders and systems thrive. This course is designed to introduce students to the consulting process by recognizing the profession as a fundamental human activity: one that engages, educates, and empowers clients toward their own innate greatness.
Strategy Track Course 5
Emerging Markets (EM) present both significant strategic opportunities and challenges/risks for firms seeking market expansion into high-growth countries, which are assuming an increasingly dominant position in the global economy. Firms from both industrialized markets as well as developing countries have to contend with a host of different political, economic, social, and technological conditions in emerging markets.
These very heterogenous conditions call for modifications of existing strategies and business models in order to, for example, successfully navigate institutional voids or target base-of-the-pyramid customers, and thereby, achieve competitive advantages in such markets.
