Off-The-Job Training

Combining work-based learning, self-study and off-the-job training cements your skills and empowers you to maximise your impact in the workplace.

Training Requirements

Off-the-job training is a mandatory requirement of all apprenticeships. The minimum requirement per week is six hours. Hult Ashridge apprenticeships typically require around 8-9 hours to successfully achieve a high-quality outcome.  All off-the-job training must be recorded and take place during contracted working hours (not overtime).

What Counts as Off-The-Job Training?

Off-the-job training doesn't necessarily mean spending physical time away from the office. The required hours can be achieved through a variety of activities which can be completed during the working day.

This video highlights some of the key benefits of off-the-job training in supporting apprenticeships acquiring the knowledge, skills and behaviours outlined by the apprenticeship standard.

Luckily, we have an online platform to make this quick and easy. You and your line manager will be able to review your off-the-job training, and it will be discussed during your regular progress review meetings.
